Background
Born on January 22nd of 2370 Kyyra was named for her great grandmother and for being born during the near-polar night of Rovaniemi with Talvikki meaning winter. A year after being born the Rytkönen family moved north to a small homestead outside of Ivalo. Growing up in a rural setting Kyyra spent many hours playing in the forests of northern Finland. Upon reaching adulthood Kyyra moved south to Tampere with a couple of her friends from school. Once in Tampere Kyyra and her friends found themselves immersed in the cities nightlife, something with which they had limited experience from their time in rural Finland. In 2389 she was arrested along with a couple of her friends for sneaking into an abandoned building for a party. After being released she moved back to Tampere. When she felt herself being drawn back into the partying lifestyle. She decided to leave and get as far away from that scene as possible. After spending three years in Starfleet as enlisted she received a letter of recommendation to go to the academy for four years and graduate as an ensign.
