Background
Carter grew up in San Jose, California. He felt strongly and passionately about Starfleet since he began reading about the exploits of the various captains. With that in mind, he cast a gaze towards tactical and decided to enter the academy on his 18th birthday. 4 years later, he's a tactical officer with a major in Tactical and minors in Helm/Comm/Ops.
After nearly facing death due to a faulty console, he thought about making a career change to engineering. He was encouraged by the captain and chief engineer to discuss this over with someone first. After a session with Counselor Raissa Moonsong, she helped him realize that his place was in the engine room and he had no business being behind a tactical console unless he was repairing it.
Manner
- Quarters: Formerly fairly spartan, with a single picture of himself and Kala Maddox at the academy with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background hanging by the door. When he was stationed on Starbase 118, he moved in with Antero Flynn in the Little Risa district and didn't unpack before deciding he needed time to grieve for his missing friends. Once they had returned, he returned to duty on the USS Invicta.
