Backstory/Timeline

Alexander Richards was born in Tycho City Lunar colony to Alison and mark Richards in 2357. His formative years were spent watching with youth filled awe the various experiments and thesis his parents would perform/write. This encouraged him develop his intellectual side more so than his physical side. At school he would always be found with his head in a PADD during recess instead of playing with the other children. This enabled him to amass a great wealth of knowledge at the expense of his social interaction development.

When it came to familly however, the young Richards was always friendly, helpful and loving owing to the environment his parents maintained. He always found it humorous to retell the tale of how he accidentally stunted his younger brothers nasal development by being a little over zealous with a rattle. This inccident occured on Stardate 236306.17 and resulted in a broken nose for his younger brother. Later in life, Harold would join in joking about the incident.

Although stunted socially bu his early life decisions and physicly by his lack of involvement in sports, Richards would go on to study applied mathematics and Quantum Mechanics at Oxford in preparation for his studies at the academy. He would graduate both courses with a first. At this point, he would have gone to Starfleet Academy but, his wife convinced him to hang around for a bit and to enjoy life before jetting off to the stars. They moved into a suburb of London near what was once called Soho and enjoyed a few Romantic years together.

It was not until 2382 (at the age of 25) that Richards applied to the Academy. His application was accepted however he was informed that physical excercise would be mandatory whilst studying as joining Starfleet was labour intensive especially when working in Engineering. On SD 238507.26 John, Mark and Marissa's first son, John, was born. Since the birth, Alexander has been spending his weekdays at the academy and weekends with his wife and Son. He has also spent all his leave at the family home. Both Marissa and himself are aware that this time is special as visits back to Earth may be few and far between once he graduates.
