Corey Wethern

Ensign Corey Wethern is currently serving as a Medical Officer aboard StarBase 118 Ops.

Appearance

Corey was raised in London on Earth by his mother who was a lecturer in astrophysics. His father was the Chief Engineer on the USS Nightingale to which Corey was fascinated by space travel from the visits he was able to attend when the ship was in spacedock.

Once old enough he studied medicine at John Hopkins university, determined not to join Starfleet and soon after qualifying took freelance jobs moving ship to ship building experience and a disdain for authority.

However whilst on a cargo run to Cromedia, the local population were suffering an outbreak of Thorillian Fever. Wethern requested the captain to delay the next pick up so they could provide aid. After an altercation resulting in a Ferengi's bruised lobes and some reappropriated medical supplies he remained on Cromedia until a Starfleet Medical Crisis Response team arrived and begun inoculation.

Following the incident on Cromedia, Wethern signed up to Starfleet with the aspiration of becoming a ships Chief Medical Officer to prevent an incident like that again.

Whilst at the academy he completed top up sessions to his core medical training and additionally undertook the Special Operations Combat Medic Advanced Tactical Practitioner course to supplement his training.

Wethern is a dedicated clinician however has been noted by his instructors as surly and not afraid to express his opinions regardless of rank.
