Personality

Gnaxac is an ambitious young Ferengi, but instead of acquiring wealth (which he has in abundance) he wishes to acquire deeds. He applies the Rules of Acquisition to his actions, not his finances. He is fiercely devoted to Starfleet, and is a wunderkind of Engineering, thanks to his father's tech company.

Biography

Gnaxac was born on Earth whilst his parents were on holiday there, but was swiftly brought back to Ferenginar where he grew up practically in the lap of luxury, even by Ferengi standards. Praza, his father, is an incredibly wealthy tech merchant who spoiled Gnaxac as his first born. Wanting to rebel against this upbringing, Gnaxac loved hearing about the daring deeds of Starfleet officers, and secretly applied to join the Academy. With the death of his parents, Gnaxac left Ferenginar and his siblings (to whom he left some of the family latinum) and headed to Earth's Stafleet Academy. After sailing through the technical aspects of the Academy and graduating, Gnaxac was appointed to the Gorkon.

Mission History

Mission - Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This

Gnaxac slept through the entire fiasco, and was blissfully unaware of any of the occurrences that went on. This is due to the four lobes of the Ferengi that made him immune.

Shore Leave - Palanon

Gnaxac was working in Stellar Cartography, doing routine maintenance when he met Megan "Meg" Bendyn. They made plans to meet after the shift, and they went down to Iana Station, eating at Burger Nagas, the Ferengi fast food joint, before getting a drink at The Badge & Phaser, an olde English pub.

Mission - the Njörðr Incident

Gnaxac was in waste management aboard a shuttlecraft when the gravity shifted aboard the Njörðr, and managed to escape with the help of a laser cutter, and Orson "Bear" Marshall. The two remained together for the rest of the incident, clambering through the interior of the ship, meeting with other survivors and helping to rescue Samira Neathler from kidnappers.

Shore Leave - Deluvia

Gnaxac had arranged to meet the Handsome Man (his name for Orson) but was unable to find the man, due to his apparent defection to the Orion Syndicate. Upon finding this information out, Gnaxac was violently ill in a waste management suite near to the Briefing Room.

Mission - Operation Sea-Devil

Gnaxac was stuck in Engineering with the self-important Peek, and was on the point of flipping when a distress call came in. Gnaxac volunteered to vist the Whydah, from which the signal emanated. He was accompanied by Nkai, Toran Sevo, Kel Baina, and Keretene. They encountered the soul survivor of an attack on the ship by some kind of creatures - everybody saw different monsters, Gnaxac seeing cloaked wraiths.

Shore Leave - Earth

Gnaxac managed to achieve a drink with the Handsome Man on his return to the Gorkon, which cemented their friendship.

Mission - Together in Electric Dreams

Gnaxac spent days inside a prison camp, a dark, cramped hold full of people. Eventually he was beamed out by Tasha "Sparks" MacFarlane, Ayiana "Red" Sevo and Genkos "Wheels" Sim, and was about to talk to them when the Q arrived. He was ignored completely by the Q, and grateful for it.

Shore Leave - Giáng Sinh

Gnaxac began shore leave with a jaunt to the surface with Megan Bendyn, with whom he grabbed a meal and opened up about his own Skarbekian experience, before being offered a role in the creation of the biathlon track by Jona ch’Ranni. Working closely with Meg to ensure the event came off smoothly was very rewarding for Gnaxac, and he got great enjoyment out of watching the race.

At the birthday party of Caedan Nkai, he first spoke to Erin Reynolds, the new Chief Engineer, and Samira Neathler about the biathlon and Erin’s new role. Leaving them to get a drink, he bumped into Jona ch’Ranni with whom he spent the rest of the party, along with Arlo Thornton, who he immediately took a liking to.

Mission History

Mission - Unity

Gnaxac was called by Aeson Del to assist with some technology brought over from the abandoned USS Unity. Along with Del, Mirkl Zanti and Meidra Sirin, they managed to get the console working, and it caused the other three (with their two lobes) to experience a telepathic vision of the history of the entity possessing the good starship Unity. Gnaxac, nonplussed, and afraid of seeing ghosts himself, left them to it and returned to his work in Engineering.

Shore Leave - Deep Space 224

Inspired by the ghostly goings on aboard the Unity, Gnaxac composed a holoadventure set in an abandoned theme park haunted by lost lovers. He invited Yogan Yalu, Meidra Sirin and Jana Zicv to participate in its first dry run, and he is fairly certain they all enjoyed themselves.

Shore Leave - Vulcan

Gnaxac spent most of this shore leave working on repairing and maintaining the Engineering department, which was suffering both from their recent travel through time, and the loss of both Jamie MacNemar and Callium Treetus.

Shore Leave - Deep Space 224

Gnaxac carried out another one of his fabulous holodeck programmes, this one with Gar Tin Nox, Chandra Amari, and Hallia Yellir, and the topic was "spooky castle nightmare".

Mission - Time in a Bottle

Gnaxac was trapped in the holodeck with Gertrude Kettleworth and Caedan Adyr, repeatedly terrorised by various horrific instances, the worst of which was when he actually died (being eaten by a great Old One type monster). Thankfully he got better.

Mission - Cats Among the Pigeons

Gnaxac was not involved in the kerfuffle aboard Rinascita Station, but he was the engineer aboard the shuttle that was bringing Kalianna Nicholotti, Addison MacKenzie and Talos Dakora back to the Resolution, arriving back in time to watch it being destroyed.

Mission History

Mission - Shadow out of Mind

During this mission, Gnaxac woke up in the body of frail human librarian Gertrude Kettleworth. Choosing to ignore the confusing nature of the body swap, he decided to focus on working on the conduit he was assigned to.

Mission - In Plain Sight

Gnaxac was assigned to an undercover team on Demes II with Captain Nicholotti, Rune Jolara, Sleepy Tiberius and Aine Sherlock. He was turned blue and extensive plastic surgery and a cheap wig hid his lobes - something that Gnaxac found hugely uncomfortable. He was forced to flee/hide several times after he was injured as he bled the yellow ichor of Ferengi, and not the blue blood of the Demesians.

Mission - The One With All The Time Zones

Gnaxac was trapped on the bridge, and unfortunately experienced several time travel jumps - 12 years into the past (orbiting a not-yet-supernova'd Romulus), the bridge of an old ship from about 150 years ago, aboard the USS Honorious during the Cardassian Border Conflict and finally the HMS Excalibur in the Caribbean of old Earth.
