Background
Umi was raised on an outpost by her mother who was a Klingon. Her father was killed in a raid when she was a small child. She learned all she could from her mother about being a Klingon and from her uncle back on Vulcan about being a Vulcan.
She was always reading as well as taking on any physical challenge she could. She has slight empathic abilities which showed up while in school one day when a bully was going to pick a fight with her. She felt the boys anger before he attacked.
She always did well in her studies but often butted heads with teachers. She even broke the nose of one of her teachers when she was 14.
Umi tried to make it as a salvager with a rag tag group of friends before realizing it wasn’t as honorable as she once thought. She returned home and applied to Starfleet Academy after a few years and then moved to Starfleet medical where she earned her degree.
She enjoys physical activities of any kind. Loves to read and has an interest in Klingon and Vulcan histories.
