T'Leira is the daughter of T'Lara of Vulcan and Vekma of the House of Konjah from a Klingon homeworld of Q'onos, who were both ambassadors appointed to the Federation embassy on Earth. As such, T'Leira spent her childhood in Federation schools. She entered Starfleet Academy at 30 years old, graduating as an above average student at the age of 36 with an M.D. specializing in exobiology and genetics. Her secondary focus was archeology with the study of ancient civilizations. She spends most of her time alone buried in her studies. She doesn't socialize much with colleagues and prefers to work alone, therefore, she doesn't work well with others. She comes across as aggressive at times and other times, she comes across as shy and socially awkward. Her Vulcan side tends to temper her Klingon side. Once someone gets to know her, she opens up more and lets them in. She joined Starfleet at the encouragement of her parents.
When she was younger, she spent time with family on both planets, Q'uonos, where her father spent his childhood and again on Vulcan with her mother's family. With her father's family, she learned the ways of the warrior, running a household according to the Klingon ways and how to wield a Klingon Bat'leth. She entered several tournaments by the age of 25, some of which she made in the top ten bringing home several trophies for her father to display. While she was living with her mother's family, she spent time at the Vulcan Science Academy, learning about the Vulcan ways of Kolinahr, even though she didn't make it through the program to reach full Kolinahr, but she did learn how to temper her Klingon half better. She was betrothed for a while to a friend of her mother's family, but the engagement didn't pan out. After several years, she returned to live with her parents on Earth, where she entered Starfleet Academy at the encouragement of her parents. They taught her that he freedoms and ideals of the Federation were worth protecting. She is currently single and has no children.
