Maz Rodan is an enthusiastic and adventurous Trill. He loves exploring the universe and finds excitement in most things. He is bubbly and friendly, yet sometimes often self-reflective. Although he has been Joined for almost a year, he is still coming to terms with the 'new' Maz. He enjoys sports, particularly hockey, basketball and bowling, and has a strong liking for Earth rock and roll. He's a lot laid back than other Trill, and enjoys socializing.

While serving there, he was called back to Trill when the previous host of Rodan passed away. The previous Host had returned to Trill with a terminal disease encountered in space, and knowing that his end was near, recommended Maz to be the next Host.
