When the ship has reached the location of a distress call, they discovered a heavily damaged Cardassian vessel, and managed to rescue the living crew. On the bridge, Noa detected the ship's dilithium supply was completely crystallized, drained, potentially by the attacker's polaron weaponry. The ''Juneau'' managed, using information recovered from the computer core and the survivors, they began following the attackers, who were apparently [[Breen]].
