The Sopressians were first encountered on stardate 239601, during the Battle of New Year's Day. The USS Columbia while in orbit of Dehner Base was attacked by the Eildyr, a mercenary ship captained by a Losarian named Tarius Kaironn. At least one Sopressian was a member of the crew. Physiology
Little is known about the physiology of the Sopressians. They have a gray skin tone with black hair. The nostrils are wider and more flared than normally seen on Terrans and the mouth edges extend further as well. They can quickly recover from all but the highest phaser stun settings. Their biochemistry is particularly susceptible to anestizine drugs.

Government
The Sopressians appear to be allied with the Losarian people. Members of this species and the Kavolians were seen among the crew of the Losarian mercenary ship Eildyr. However, political relations between the two races and the official Losarian government are unclear.
