Background
Born and raised in Harbortown, Equatorial Province, Andoria, Xiron grew up with three of her four parents and several siblings. Her clan father was a merchant off world and spent little time with the family.
Xiron's second father had gone to Starfleet Academy but left in his third year. During the Dominion War, he enlisted in Starfleet and worked on a communications relay far from the front. In her youth, he taught her to rock climb in the ice caves outside the city, a hobby she kept as an adult.
Her dame mother was librarian. She spent her childhood in the stacks of the old archives, exploring the maze of shelves and reading dusty tomes not touched in decades.
Ambition and adventure motivated her to a life of starships. As a teen, she attended the Imperial Guard Prep School. At first, she was considering a career in the Imperial Guard but knew Starfleet was the more elite deep space organization; applying to both the Academies. Once accepted into Starfleet Academy, she chose to study engineering with a science minor.
While on Earth, she made a few attempts to free-solo El Capitan. The last attempt, she broke her ankle and had to be transported to the hospital. This injury would mean that she was taken off the Academy's Aikido team during their run to be world college championship.
She initially found going from hometown which nearly all Andorians to the Academy with every dozens of species was initially very difficult. Everything from the gravity, the day/night cycle, to how to interact with people whose biology were very literal alien to her.
Her personality can come off as very bookish and socially awkward around people she just meet. She is very clannish with her friends and can be goofy with her inner circle. Due to this, it took her awhile to make friends at the Academy. The friends she has, she fiercely protective of. Only her pride kept her from openly crying when she departed San Francisco for SB-118.
