Stardate 239210.01
After successfully ridding their ship of the Borg nanites, the crew of the USS Constitution, NCC-9023-B, went to Starbase 11 to take their well-deserved shoreleave. Many of the crew took to the surface, including Cmdr. Jalana Rajel and LtCmdr. T'Mar who had some catching up to do, while others enjoyed a game of poker on the ship. Everyone enjoyed taking the time to relax and forget about the Borg situation. Repairs were made to the ship and additional scans were run to guarantee that no Borg nanites remained on the ship. After shore leave, the Constitution headed out to the Talos Sector to conduct a routine sensor sweep.

By all accounts, the patrol was going as planned and was rather standard. About a month into the patrol, Cmdr. Rajel sent the following message to Captain Faranfey of the USS Doyle: "Right now we are patrolling the Talos sector, and I wish someone would have told me how boring that can be."

Indeed, the patrol had been entirely uneventful. All sensor readings were standard with no anomalies. Shortly after the message went out, however, Starfleet lost contact with the Constitution.

After several attempts to contact the Constitution were unsuccessful, Starfleet stepping in. Ships were sent out to the Constitution's last known location, where they discovered that the Constitution was no longer there. An extensive search is currently underway, however there is no trace of where the Constitution may have gone. With no debris found, Starfleet representatives are hopeful that the Constitution was not destroyed. Sensors found what appeared to be the remnants of a subspace field, which may or may not have contributed to the Constitution's disappearance. FNS will be monitoring the situation closely for updated information.

After falling through a temporal rift, the crew of the USS Constitution, NCC-9023-B, discovered that they had in fact traveled to Earth in the year 1914. The Constitution had been performing a routine sector sweep in the Talos system when the rift formed and pulled them through. The damage was severe and the Constitution is running on limited power reserves. With no alternatives, Cmdr. Jalana Rajel ordered two teams down to the surface of the planet to find food and supplies. The two teams were instructed to minimize the impact on the timeline and therefore were dressed in period clothing and were surgically altered to appear human.

Shortly after beaming down to the surface, Rajel and her team realized that they had not ended up in Berlin as expected, but rather in Sarajevo. To make things worse, they were there the day before the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and had accidentally injured his would-be assassin. It was also discovered that Germany’s Kaiser was in Sarajevo for the parade, despite historical records showing that he was not in attendance. Realizing that Earth’s timeline had been altered, Rajel and her team worked to devise a plan to repair the damage they had done.

Meanwhile, in Shanghai, LtCmdr. Sinda Essen led the other team on the search for supplies that Engineering required to repair the engines. When they stopped to get a bite to eat, the police arrived and a large fight separated members of the team. Sinda worked quickly to reunite the team and they managed to have a run in with a group of pirates. Having obtained the resources they were searching for in Shanghai, the team began to make their way to a new location to avoid being arrested.

As the two teams work to repair the timeline and get the Constitution safely back home in the right timeline, Starfleet continued its search unaware of the events that were unfolding on Earth in the past. “Right now, we have been unable to locate the Constitution, but we will not lose hope that they will be safely returned to us!” a spokesperson for Starfleet stated in a press release.

It has been some time since the USS Constitution NCC-9023-B disappeared in the Talos Sector while conducting routine sensor sweeps. At the time, little information was released, although it was revealed that a spacial rift had been detected near the Constitution's last known location. After the Constitution and her crew vanished, an organized search was held to ensure that the ship had not been destroyed or captured. No evidence of foul play was detected and eventually the search was officially called off. There have been reports of a ship patrolling the area, although it is unclear what its purpose may be and if it is related to the Constitution’s mysterious disappearance.

While no official announcements have been made from Starfleet, a confidential source has revealed that the Constitution had in fact traveled back in time. The source detailed that Cmdr. Rajel and several other crew members were forced to go planet-side when they fell through a temporal and spacial rift that left the ship damaged and in orbit of Earth in 1914. One team successfully gathered materials to repair the severely crippled Constitution. The other team, led by Rajel, were forced to fix the timeline when it became apparent that things were not at they should be.

"It is my understanding that they even beamed an injured civilian on board, only to heal his injuries and beam him back so he could kill some Archduke and start a world war!" Our source stated.

At the moment, none of these accusations can be substantiated. It is quite possible that despite how alarming this information in, it will never be revealed what really happened to the Constitution and her crew. One thing is certain, however. If these details are true, there are many out there that will find it ethically questionable. The Constitution crew will likely be debriefed before being able to take a well-deserved shore leave.
