Background
Carmine was born in New York City. Born to parents determined to have him not lead the life they led, they provided for him the way parents do. However the turning point came when after college he felt he can do more. Get out see the world(s).
At the age of 22, Carmine graduated from John Jay university with a degree in criminal justice. Following a boyhood/teenage dream, he applied to Starfleet. Much like his college years, Carmine decided to register undeclared as there were so many interesting options which appealed, he couldn't decide. During his second year of attendance at the academy he had met his future wife Taryn at a local tavern. From then on a blissful ranch ensued later to be followed by marriage.
The even more blissful relationship came to an abrupt and horrible end by third year as his wife and soon to be discovered unborn child met a premature fate at the hands of a Romulan while on Vulcan.
Santucci, having his world crushed continued his education as he thought his wife would have liked. Except now, he knew he was destined to protect others from the same fate as his wife, Security was his field of choice.
Carrying the guilt of fault for his family's untimely yet horrific death, Carmine's scenario of his final exam at the academy led to his being ""left behind"" to yet try again. Learning his actions led to his demise, Santucci struggles to put his past behind. Is what they say true, ""what doesn't kill you make you stronger?"" Only Santucci knows what his future holds.
