At the age of 18, Ar'jin was enrolled in the design and engineering for the Ba'ku war weapons. After two years, he realised just how serious the matter was, and abandoned the plant, finding the Starfleet as his only 'safe place'. He enrolled, and passed his final exam with flying colours.
