Regan, being half Betazoid, naturally has some telepathic/empathic powers. He is fully non-touch empathic to any species, but his telepathic abilities are limited to other telepaths, and work best with his own species. He is learning to keep his skills refined, and is often loathe to use them unless with the express consent of his patient.
Personality/Notes of Character
Regan Wilde is a friendly, popular guy among his classmates, but sometimes quiet and reflective. He is a sensitive soul, which he attributes to to his Betazoid mother and her strong spiritual beliefs. He is sometimes insecure about his telepathic/empathic abilities because it sets him aside as 'different'. He abides by the Starfleet telepathy doctrines of personal privacy and invasion of thoughts. Being half human, he has struggled with his Betazoid heritage with owing to the fact he had very little contact with other humans to talk to about it. He found the Betazoids friendly, and compassionate, but not understanding of his needs. He has a twin sister, Roxy, who rebelled against her parents and went to Starfleet Academy without their consent, but was expelled for rule-breaking. She later reapplied successfully once she knew Regan had gone, and passed at the same time he did. She is currently an Engineer. When Regan was 14 his parents divorced, his father returned to Earth, and has barely spoken to him since. Regan attributes this to the fact that Roxy was unruly as a teenager, and he himself was gay, which forced his father out of their lives. He still has some trouble accepting the fact that he has no strong connection to the Wilde name, since they are so predominant in Starfleet. However he is fairly close to his cousin Amber, who resides on Earth, and her brother Danny.
