Captain Xan Hebron was given this brand new ship in 2378. In 2379, the command was taken by Commander Jessa Anassasi in a temporary capacity, as it was attached to StarBase 118 as a field ship. Later that year, the ship was docked at StarBase 118 to undergo a minor overhaul and await the next mission assignment, while Anassasi took command of the USS Tiger. Fleet Captain Xan Hebron, after the overhaul, then took command of the Constitution again, leaving Captain Nekkar to command StarBase 118 Operations.
