At first, she was unaware of his identity, but his rank of Captain was clear from his collar insignia. She eventually learned his call sign of ''Spartan I'' and resolved that eventually she would get to know more about this man. During a ball on Paldor II, Jelanna finally worked up the nerve and approached him. There was instant attraction at once (and not because of her pheromones, which were being suppressed by inhibitors) and the two have been an item ever since. Recently, Amuro asked her to move in with him and Jelanna rather eagerly accepted. With the crew's transfer to the ''[[USS Chin'toka|Chin'toka]]'', Jelanna has moved in with him once more. Given her past and her heritage, Jelanna often finds it rather interesting that she would be so devoted to just one man, but for now is happy to see where things will go.
