| Gaia is ruled by an interesting system of government. The people retain many freedoms and previliages. The whole of control however is ruled by a small party call simply the council 7, representatives from all the kinds of workers, military, and spiritual people to establish order. Of course all these can be over ruled by a final say from the official leader of the entire House, the planet and the entire system, the Duke of House Fanel, more or less another title to a king or emperor of such. The royal family that founded the planet and colonized the system, they established a chain of command that will always give House Fanel power and influence over Gaia. Some say they are too powerful, but because of their respect and always genrous treatment of the people, anyone would follow their leaders to hell and back. | | Gaia is ruled by an interesting system of government. | It is said that Gaia was one of the final resting places of an ancient civilization that seeded life in this galaxy. When the first colonist from Earth arrived on Gaia, they were surprised that the inhabitants were indeed humans, not humanoids that look human, but DNA scans and tests show human DNA about 99.999% identical to humans on Earth. Improbable it may seem, as another human species evolving on another planet, the myth is that an ancient society simply called "The Anicients" was the first evolved humanoid in the galaxy. That it grew from it's own system and expanded into the galaxy and found that there are no other races like it. Gloating in its own achievement in technology and culture, the Ancients created life on many planets allowing life to variate into the different species we see today. It is said that the Ancients look very human like and that their technology and understanding has reached to a point where they can create anything with a simple thought. The power to control even time itself and fate. A portray that these Ancient arrogantly designed wings of pure white on their backs as as sign that they can achieve anything they want. In these protrays, they carry crystals usually attached like a pendent and these are said to be the source of their powers. To an underdeveloped civilization, such powers could only be describled as "magic", but magic could just be a word to hide the fact that these Ancients have advanced so far ahead that our current level of understanding cannot hope to catch up at the moment.
| |
| | |
| An Earth based myth that has been overused is the possibility that these Ancients are the "Atlantians" spoken of. A great civilization that preceded human civilization possessing advanced technology.
| |
| | |
| In one tale it is said that the Ancients refered to as Atlantians lived on Earth, created the human race, but because arrogant in their advanced power which brought only destruction unto themselves. They then left Earth and literally created the planet Gaia as a replacement for their failings on Earth and then suddenly disappeared. It is said in this tale that gateways between Earth and Gaia still exist, but only possible with the technology to "make thoughts into reality". The possiblity of a technology that can transport you from one part of the galaxy to another part almost instanteous is of great power.

| | |
| What happened to the Ancients is anyone's guess. They left little or no relics or monuments or ruins for us to study. Which leaves this myth as a myth until one discovery which hasn't been proven or perhaps ignored and denied by other races. The incident in the Vilmoran system where Captain Picard and his crew discovered a message implying that all humanoid lifeforms in the galaxy share the same origin ([[ma:TNG|TNG]]: ''[[ma:The Chase (episode)|The Chase]]''). The message was watched by a few other species present explaining that the Humans, Romulans (and by extension, Vulcans), Klingons, and Cardassians possess a mutual ancestor. The following is the holographic message:
| |
| | |
| | |
| '''''"You're wondering who we are; why we have done this; how it has come that I stand before you - the image of a being from so long ago. Life evolved on my planet before all others in this part of the galaxy. We left our world, explored the stars and found none like ourselves. Our civilization thrived for ages, but what is the life of one race, compared to the vast stretches of cosmic time?'''''
| |
| | |
| '''''We knew that one day we would be gone, and nothing of us would survive - so we left you. Our scientists seeded the primordial oceans of many worlds, where life was in its infancy. This body you see before you, which is of course shaped as yours is shaped, for you are the end result. The seed code also contains this message, which was scattered in fragments on many different worlds.'''''
| |
| | |
| '''''It was our hope that you would have to come together in fellowship and companionship to hear this message, and if you can see and hear me, our hope has been fulfilled. You are a monument, not to our greatness, but to our existence. That was our wish - that you too would know life and would keep alive our memory. There is something of us in each of you, and so, something of you in each other. Remember us."'''''

| | |
| | |
| Unfortunately, this little incident was flatly denied by every major power involved in the incident including the Federation as the planet this message was found on was located in disputed space and that all parties present didn't make any official reports. No other species were able to get ahold of this knowledge. The likelihood that all humanoid species in the Galaxy having a common ancestry could very well disrupte the balance of everything. Perhaps we are not ready to accept this ultimate truth. Though Some Fanels have. It is said that the Fanel bloodline dates back from the idea that one of the ancestors of Fanel was in fact a descendant of the Ancients, blended with a human and created a hybrid. This hybrid lived in the Fanel family for generations. It is said that the early descendents of the hybrids can call upon the "wings of light" the Ancients designed on themselves. Old drawings and paintings in House Fanel showed some of them having white bird wings or "angel wings". It is not known if any Fanel today possessed this capablity, but most likely not since the DNA of the ancient has been diluted through generations of breeding.
| |
| | |
| In belief of the myth that all life in the galaxy are equal and the same, House Fanel created a world, a nation where all forms of sentient life is one. In many ways it's similiar to the Federation only that they unite many different species into one collective power. As such many different species from all over come to Gaia to become part of this growing nation where it is no longer a nation specficly for one species, but an ideal between all life. It is the belief that one day the entire galaxy will be of such a nation.
