I may keep this one brief. We received a distress call from Rinascita Research Station. Things went bad. Doctor Morgan was taken hostage. I lead the team tasked with getting him back, was the first one through the door. I'd trained for such scenarios at the Academy many times. We didn't have what we really needed and things went south and I got shot. It was a near fatal wound. Doctor Morgan performed a small miracle and saved me. Meidra got injured trying to come to my aid. The hostage taker stabbed her. Luckily, it appears she's recovering well. We lost the Resolution.
You know, we get fed these statistics in training. "Expect this percentage of losses for this scenario" and such. Including losing a ship. Nothing prepares you for actually becoming one of those statistics. Especially not twice in one day.
End log.

This leave has been a little up and down. Much to my surprise, Sil transferred to the Resolution. I thought he was happy on the Juneau. He'd met someone and seemed content...I don't know. Anyways, we were loaned the Excalibur to go to Bajor. That is one impressive ship. The Captain served there before. It's so big. Well, I mean, there's bigger ships in the fleet, but compared to the Res, it's massive! I know sometimes I complain about the lack of privacy on a Nova Class, but a ship the size of the Excalibur, just seemed...lonely. With the way our missions have been going, I'm sure Captain Rainier would rather we have something with more teeth.
