While helping out in the disaster zone, the still and stagnant water drew insects to the relief camp Young Hontrú was occupying. He caught a form of malaria and was close to death, but Kered Nella stayed with the youth day and night for several days as he became strong enough to be given the medication that stabilized him and lead to a full recovery. For his helping their son live and get better, S'rret asked the council to make Kered Nella into a member of Clan Hontrú. An honor rarely given to off worlders, Nella is the first and only Klingon to have this Honor. This created a bond between the two, and later Nella would be the officer to sponsor Hontrú's entry into Starfleet. | |||
