Mikk Toral: Difference between revisions

Mikk Toral's quarters can be slightly messy at times as he is not really very good at keeping perfect order. You might find some socks or uniform pants lying on the floor or on the bed or some padds on the table that he hasn't yet put away from the day before. He has several things that remind him of his family back on the Trill homeworld. He is especially fond of his younger sister and they have a very close relation to each other. They write each other regularly. He also likes to have some plants in his quarters as the standard room is too sterile and cold for him.  

Mikk Toral tends to knit his brow when he is brooding over a problem. It may happen that he besomes so deeply absobed in a scientific study that he forgets the time and almost everything around him.

Apart from meeting friends and crewmembers off-duty, Mikk likes to play holo novels in his free time. His favourite are all sorts of detective stories, as he likes to solve the riddle of finding the 'bad guys'.

Apart from that he likes to do some sports as this helps him to stay fit and to get his head free again after a long day of scientific research. He is especially fond of surfing. Therefore he created a variety of holodeck programmes with all different sorts of locations which are famous throughout the galaxy for their perfect waves for surfing.

Mikk Toral's biggest dissappointment was that he has been rejected for the Symbiosis Commission. They stated that he was not suited to be considered as a host because one of his grandmothers was in fact not Trill and that that might still cause complications for the symbiont. Mikk himself, however, thinks that this decision was not based on medical facts, but on presumptions the Commission made based on difficulties with Half-Trill applicants in the past. Nevertheless, his protest was ignored and he was not allowed to take part in the initial tests for possible joinings.

Mikk Toral has a frank and cheerful character. Furthermore, you could describe him as rather selfless as he tries to help others when they need help. Therefore, he worked very well in teams and did quite well. When he likes someone, he loves to banter with them. He wasn't hoastile to the student life during his time at the Academy and love spending evenings out with his friends. He still likes to get to know new people and is quite a social person. However, he has his times when he needs to be alone. Then he is not really in the modd of talking and likes to sit and just look out the starship's windows into the vast space outside.  

A negative character trait is that he can be quite grumpy early in the mornings and he needs at least two cups of strong coffee before he starts to feel okay again.

Mikk Toral is sometimes not so self-confident as he wants to make others believe. This is due to the time as a child when he was bullied by others. He tends to cover this, but deep inside this still frets him sometimes. These are often the times when he wants to be alone.

On stardate 236706.25 Mikk Toral was born as to Kall and Boldara in the city of Gheryzan on the Trill homeworld. He has a younger sister named Alarra.  

Mikk Toral joined the Academy when he was 18 years old. He saw this as a chance to get to see more than just his homeworld and to satisfy his curiosity. Therefore science was was his natural choice of department and he concentrated on that. Due to the tempts of student life, his marks at the Academy were mediocre and he completed the Academy with 55 credits all in all. He didn't spend much time learning and was nevertheless able to pass the tests and courses. Sometimes he wonders what his results might have been if he had really made an effort. But then again he thinks that these years at the Academy were the best ones up until now.
