Nikael Kalre

Nikael Kalre is a 56-year-old Betazoid and leader of the Maquis Reborn. A veteran of the Dominion War, he attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer while serving in Starfleet as a microbiologist. Among his acquaintances was Valen Carys.

After the war, he left the service in 2375 and returned with his wife, a Terran woman, to his hometown of Ohmallera, where he helped with the rebuilding efforts on his homeworld, which had been occupied by Dominion forces.

Kalre was away when the hijacked USS Constitution-B destroyed Ohmallera in 2388 on stardate 238802.22. His wife Aurora, 3-year-old daughter Annella, and 6-month-old son Rennan, however, were killed during the attack along with most of the city's 1.2 million inhabitants.
