Auna Brel
Auna Brel, a Trill, was the fourth host of the Brel symbiont.
Born Auna Pune, she was working as a government clerk when she was selected as a host by the Symbiosis Commission, being joined to the Brel symbiont in 2356.
Within several years of becoming joined, Auna underwent a career change. Leaving Trill, she found success as a Federation ambassadorial aide and subsequently as a mediator in territorial disputes.
Auna died of heart failure in 2380 at the age of 72. She was succeeded as a host by Tobias Brel, Counselor aboard the USS Tiger.

Personality
Regarded by those who knew her as highly competent though often proud and arrogant, Auna Brel would best be described as a workaholic. Focused on her career, Auna made little time for friends or family and whilst many people would readily admit to admiring her achievements in later life as a diplomat, few would have labeled her as a friend.
She had exacting standards that she required subordinates and colleagues to meet and would think little of criticizing their work in front of others. Even work of the highest quality would rarely receive praise.
Away from work, Auna enjoyed relatively few leisure activities although she had a fondness for playing Chess and Bolian Backgammon.
Influence on Tobias Brel
Of all of the Brel symbiont's previous hosts, Tobias has had the greatest difficulty integrating Auna's personality and memories into his own identity.
Having been easygoing before the joining, Tobias developed a tendency to be overly harsh on himself after making mistakes and errors of judgment. He attributes this and a general lessening of his self-esteem to Auna's influence.
One aspect of Auna's personality that Tobias has had little trouble accepting however is her sweet tooth.
