When Captain Waltas and Jorus Cogud among others where captured by the smuggler Rambling Rose, Sopek was on duty at the helm, having to face an the responsibility of a full time helm officer.

During the Gurab II Crisis, Sopek joined Grell and Ellie Kokinos in helping the science department stop a potential crisis.
