<br />During '''Alyndras'''’ time at the [[Starfleet Academy|academy,]] she both trained and volunteered in the children’s section of the training hospital. She got the experience of treating a wide number of different species as well as developing a reputation for a great bedside manner. She also took advantage of being a [[Trill]], by getting her nervous patients to count the spots on her head whilst they were being treated.

She also made a handful of friends at the [[Starfleet Academy|academy]], including '''Theodore Jameson''', whom she met in her classes and would take the final exam together, however he did not pass first time. '''Alyndra''' was promoted to ensign without him. Without '''Alyndra''' to help him through the academy, he dropped out, he has yet to return.  

She also found an appreciation for the freedom of flight, specifically after taking a day trip to the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Air_and_Space_Museum Air and Space Museum] in [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington,_D.C. Washington D.C] and discovering the story of [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amelia_Earhart Amelia Earhart] and how she beat the odds by proving that women could fly planes too in a part of [[Earth]]’s History that seemed so archaic. So, in her off time, she began to train to receive a minor in Helm/Navigation, which she achieved.
