Born on Rekar III to Kastov and Uneera, Kasten is the elder of two children. His younger sister M'lva still resides on Rekar III with their mother in the province of Utera. During his upbringing Kasten spent much of his time exploring the outer reaches of the province and the surrounding territory. Both his parents served as naturalist and biologist for the local scientific community and Kasten has followed in their footsteps developing a deep love for all things outdoors.
