She knew that medicine was her calling in life, and she prepared to pursue a career in that field. However, the Dominion War quickly through several wrenches in her plans. Instead of staying in school, she joined the Federation Peace Corps, and began to treat wounded personnel. After the war's end, she was offered a position in a civilian hospital, which she happily accepted; however, she quickly grew bored.
