+Solaris was born in the city of Belfast on Earth. Her father, James McLaren is the owner of a pub, imaginatively named 'McLaren's'. Her mother, Vivian Mclaren, owns a small florist's shop.

+As an only child she was a loner, often found reading books or listening to music. During her secondary education she became fascinated with spycraft, reading many books on the subject though most of them romanticized the field, and by the time she had entered high school she had decided to pursue the intelligence field. In addition to this, during her middle and high school careers she began learning to play the trombone and continues to play regularly. In her free time after school, she often helped out at her fathers pub, much to her mothers dismay.

+During her time at the Academy she was a middling student, having found out that the intelligence field wasnt as action packed and romantic as it had been in her books. Her grades werent the best, but it was found that she had particular aptitude for Crypto-analysis. As such she graduated the academy with a major in Intelligence, specializing in Crypto-analysis and Signals Intelligence taking a full year longer than most cadets.
