During this time, he worked in various government-run hospitals on Earth as well as many volunteer stints in war-torn areas of the Sol system. Unfortunately, there are misunderstandings on both sides. Misunderstandings that would eventually lead to a build-up of paranoia, jealousy and doubt. Unfortunately, though her body survives, her mind is rendered vegetative. Raj takes it upon himself to care for the orphaned girl on the Discovery. Miraculously, while on shore leave at Ba'ku, the restorative powers of the planet awaken Addie from her coma. The cheerful and bright young girl brings a burst of much needed sunshine in Raj's life.
