Pholin was born in the region of Iyax on [[Denobulan|Denobula]]. He was raised by his parents and some of his step-parents on a farm bordering huge fields. Both of his parents worked on submarines - until a recent accident happened - exploring the largely unexplored Denobulan oceans.
