Sargeant Mitchell is a proud man, tough, smart, parent of a great on whom he is happy does not follow him in his footsteps. mitch as worked with [[Wallace Williams]] when he was still a Marine, acting as Wallace his squad leader on many classified mission for the federation's safety.  

When having to act as a  Sargeant Major "Dragoon" is a power voice and force according to many marines, he has saved dozens of marine lives over the years he has been in service

By all acounts he should have been a Major or higher by now, But he has refused every single officer promotion offered to him, claiming he can better keep the boys in check or alive as a Sargeant.
