Jalana Laxyn is the Chief Medical Officer on the [[USS Apollo]]. She is a non-joined Trill and prefers to be addressed as Jalana or by rank. Jalana did graduate from Medical School on Trill. Though the system divides the Training from the achievement of the Title. To obtain the right to be called 'Dr.' one has to finish a Thesis either in the same year or after the graduation. Jalana had been focused on her training, because she saw it more important to be able to take care of her patients than to decorate herself with a title. | |||
After she graduated she decided to join Starfleet and since she failed at the first round of tests, she put her time into studying hard to be accepted, which she succeeded at after the repeater tests. In her time at the Academy she concentrated on studying and working hard, and during her residency she focused again on her patients. When it came to the attention that she had not gotten her Dr. Title yet, Starfleet wanted to refuse her graduation until she would achieve that. Though Jalana was lucky because there was one Captain who requested her to serve on his ship: Captain Jaxx of the Apollo. After discussions between him and Starfleet, Jalana was able to graduate and serve upon the ship under the condition to finish her thesis as soon as possible aboard the Apollo. Today she is working on it next to her position as CMO. | |||
