==Personal History==

Atherton is the only child of Malek and Andrea Grix at the Grix family home on Risa. Atherton enjoyed a carefree childhood like most his age. Unlike his friends, and most other Risians for that matter, Atherton's parents insisted that he pay attention to his studies. Even though it took some adjusting to Atherton soon found a balance as well as an appreciation for his schooling. As he grew older Atherton's parents further insisted that he begin studying in order to take up one of the few non-automated services on Risa just as they had done. While Atherton didn't fully understand their reasoning, they told him that it was only after completing an honest day's work that he would truly be able to appreciate the paradise that he was lucky enough to live on.
