First, his neural node, with a subsequent upgrade with the optical lenses that act as computer screens. The second, being his bio-mechanical tail, which is fused to his coccyx/spine. Each surgery was technically "illegal," by Star Fleet standards, but Chase relies on his right to body autonomy, as the surgeries to remove them would be somewhat risky... leaving few Fleet officers willing to force him by order to remove them.
