Jaxx: First offic....::clearing his throat:: Computer restart log. ::He waited for the chirp to confirm his order and continued once more.:: Captain's Log Stardate 238708.23. With Admiral Rocar missing, I have assumed command of the Victory. We are currently docked at Starbase 118 to pick up a full crew compliment, and safely drop off the miners. Half of the battle is complete, a few minutes ago Doctor Malcolm finished the transfer of the patients to the infirmary. The crew has a two day pass, although I had hoped to give them a couple weeks, but StarFleet never changes. ::sitting back in his chair:: Commander Webb will be acting as the ships First Officer. I am torn by this, however. Commander Webb is a brilliant officer, and he is dedicated like no other. ::sighs:: Which is the difficult part, because I do not know if he is more dedicated to the Admiral than he is to StarFleet. Admiral Tillano is dispatching us to chart a few systems, and scan anomalies. Obviously, these acts could wait until the Admiral has been around...::pausing he realized the likelihood:: one way or another. Computer...end log.

==Stardate 238908.07 - Personal Log==

Jaxx: Personal Log, Stardate 238908.07.  We finished locating and transferring the survivors from the Nelson.  I have made the recommendation that StarFleet dispatch another vessel to the area for an extensive search.  There were still escape pods that were unaccounted for.  ::sighing:: Tressa is gone now, she and the kids transferred over to the Carpathia to hitch a ride to DS5.  From there, they will be leaving on a transport for her next assignment.  Having her base-side will be good for the kids.  Honestly, I do not know what to think.  I wish I could forget, and take away my regrets.  If we could've started again, would it have changed the end?  I do not believe in fate, I never have.  I think that where you end up is a victim of circumstance and your choices along the road.  ::scoffs:: Maybe I should avoid non-telepaths.  It seems every time I do, it ends badly.  Why am I so closed off?  I swear by the deities, I have known me, my entire life...I have a doctorate in psychology, I have been a counselor...and I am still a mystery to myself.  How can I expect anyone to "get me" if I cannot get myself?  The only thing I seem to do right is perform my duties.  Do I pour so much of myself into it, I am bound to fail at anything else?  ::snickering as he shook his head in frustration:: They say "ask the questions" for that is the only way you can seek answers.  I have been asking these same questions for years, yet here I am...still asking.  I just...I do not know.  End log.

==Stardate 238908.19 - Captain's Log==

<nowiki>::Sitting his chair he stretched, reaching for the ceiling. After letting out a yawn, he reached forward pressing a few buttons on his console.::</nowiki>
Jaxx: Captain's Log, Stardate 238908.19. On our way back to the Trinity Sector, we have been diverted to rendezvous with the USS Mercury. Commander Kells is escorting a representative of the Cardassian government to the front lines. It seems like they want a seat at the big kids table. ::Jaxx kept his dislike for the Cardassians to a minimum. He vividly remembered their presence on Betazed during the Dominion War.:: It also appears that some within their government do not like them playing in another sandbox. We have been briefed that there may be a plot to assassinate the representative in Federation space to weaken our relations. If it happens on our watch, those on Cardassia Prime that oppose our relations will most likely gain more support. We will be picking up a Cardassian intelligence agent to help get to the bottom of it. Whilst I am more worried about the Klingons, I am not fond of someone trying to play us for a fool. All I know, is when we meet up with the Merc...Aron is not going to be happy. All the work his crew is doing to stabilize relations with Cardassia Prime could go up in smoke if we cannot find out what is planned and stop it.
<nowiki>::pausing for a second::</nowiki>
We are still a couple days out for the rendezvous point. It seems engineering has detected a micro fissure in our starboard nacelle. They are currently assessing the damage, and we should be underway in a few hours. This should not affect our timetable, as we can make up the time as soon as we have warp capability again.
End log...
<nowiki>::As the computer chirped, Jaxx stood up and left his ready room.:: </nowiki>
