Born to neglectful parents, at the age of one month Alex was taken | |||
to an orphanage, where two months later was adopted by his fathers. He | |||

His sisters were jealous of the extra attention he was given. They | |||
picked on Alex and his 'heartlessness' often, which didn't bother him | |||
(because nothing really did). After a while of teasing, they realised | |||
they weren't getting anywhere and grew to respect him, and even love | |||

He was schooled on ship schools, benefitting from both a knowledgeable | |||
professor and having many experienced officers to give hands-on | |||
training. Garrion started to teach Alex about social interactions, | |||
often having to correct him and teach him the best way to interact | |||
with others. He also instilled in him what he calls, ‘Core Values’ | |||
which are based on politeness, protection of others and understanding | |||
of others. At times when he questioned why he should follow those | |||
values, his father told him that he could think of it as a way to | |||
repay his care he has given him all his life. His father was also the | |||
one who encouraged him to join Starfleet (Well, it was just. His | |||

Due to his obligations to the values of his father, Alex’s most | |||
logical choice was to choose a security course to pursue in starfleet. | |||
Going to San Fran Starfleet Academy, he majored in Security and passed | |||
with passing grades. He wasn't the most dedicated or talented cadet, | |||
but he did try his best. He kept regular contact with his family, | |||
