Born in a small town (Rinones) just outside of the Betazoid Capital City Rixx, his parents were overjoyed to finally have a child. Trying for many years, their attempts had finally paid off. Bringing him home that first day was the happiest day of their lives, and they promised to keep him on Betazed. The small home eventually became a play area for the neighboring children. Adam had reached the age of four and was the pride and joy of his parents, as well as the best kid to play with in the neighborhood. Adam was never selfish, always shared his toys and games, and made friends within the first day of meeting. One such day, a new family moved into the quickly growing city. With them, they brought a 7 year old boy, Archeem. Adam was overjoyed. He too was seven, and he figured that he would make friends with this young lad as quickly as he had with the other children. But this wasn't to be. Archeem was shy, and secluded. He would never come over to Adam's house, and when Adam was invited by Archeem's parents to stay over at his house, he spent the day hiding under his bed. Adam tried to get Archeem to play, but it was no use.
Adam William Haase was born in the small town of Rinones, a small suburb of Rixx. Born to parents who had long sought a child, he grew up in a home where he was pampered and cared for. His mother, an important city official, was rarely home to take care of him, although her intentions were always the best when she was available. His father, on the other hand, remained home quite often, although business trips took him from the home every few months. Because of this, Adam spent most of his time with either his father or a "watcher" as they called them in his community. These watchers rotated on a monthly basis, and because of this Adam never made any lasting relations with any of them.

Adam decided that he would trick Archeem into playing. He called him outdoors, and Archeem came, assuming that one of his parents were calling him. Adam climbed to the roof - planning to challenge the young boy to a game of tag - which Adam would declare Archeem couldn't win. But Adam slipped. Falling to the ground, he crushed his leg, and was rushed to the emergency room, where he spent the next 8 months in rehabilitation. While laying in the hospital, Adam began to consider his life, what he would become, and how he would accomplish it. He did not want to be like his parents. He wanted to be different. And as an only child, it was his mindset that if he never did anything - he would never get out. Unbeknownst to him, his parents had just discovered that they were about to have another child. When Adam was released from the hospital, he met his sister - Carolynn. After recovering, Adam became less pronounced in the community. His studies took most of his time, and be began to realize how much he really enjoyed school.
This inability to form a relationship stunted Adam when he entered school. He was shy, unwilling to talk, and ignored many questions when asked. Yet, he miraculously excelled in assessments and vocabulary development, which he kept concealed in a notebook which he carried with him.

He moved into the gifted and talented program, and was learning advanced calculus by the age of 10. He continued to increase in his studies, and lessened in the ways of the juvenile. He began to win awards, invitations to the government parties, and best of all - a scholarship to Starfleet Academy when he reached the age of 18. It was now or never. Both of his parents constantly argued regarding Adam's future. His father desperately wanted him to become a doctor and remain on Betazed, and his mother wished for him to become a Diplomat and represent the planet. But Adam had no desire for either of those lifestyles. Instead, he enrolled (against his parent's wishes) into the Starfleet Engineering and HCO programs, which he double-majored.
