Template:Ribbons
Any service ribbon may be awarded multiple times. A gold star represents each repeated citation, and a silver star represents five additional citations (and therefore five gold stars). For certain campaign ribbons awarded for participation in multi-phase campaigns, bronze stars represent the completion of a specific number of campaign phases.
- To display all of your collected awards and service ribbons in a display case for your bio, use Template:Ribbons Display.
This template lets you call up any award or service ribbon just using the name of the ribbon itself instead of finding the exact filename. It also allows you to display multiple citations of a service ribbon.
For Staff: Adding new ribbons to this templateNew ribbons should be added to the wiki as PNGs and by their official name (i.e., what you want the user to enter in for their ribbons rack, etc.).
Edit the following template to add the newly created ribbon to the list of ribbons: |
How to use this template:
{{Ribbons|name of service ribbon|width in pixels|number of times awarded (optional)}}
- See Awards and Service Ribbons for more details about each award and ribbon.
So for instance, just type in
{{Ribbons|Legion of Merit|200}}
and you will get the Legion of Merit service ribbon returned at a width of 200 pixels:
If you earned the Legion of Merit four times, you'd type in
{{Ribbons|Legion of Merit|200|4}}
and you'll get the appropriate arrangement of stars! If you put your cursor over the image, the name of the ribbon will be displayed.
Use the following formal names:

Let's say you've been awarded the Silver Star 7 times (wow!) and you want to display the ribbon at a width of 100 pixels. You'd type in:
{{Ribbons|Silver Star|100|7}}
and get
Right-aligned single starSome service ribbons such as the Explorer’s Ribbon and the Gold and Silver Lifesaving Ribbons have a special design in the center. If you don't want to block it with your star, use 2r and 6r to display a gold (2 citations) and silver star (6 citations) respectively, aligned to the right of the ribbon's center. For instance, {{Ribbons|Silver Lifesaving Ribbon|100|2r}} gives you
|
The template currently supports up to 11 citations of the same service ribbon, and yes, you can use this template to also display a single citation of the ribbon as well by leaving off the last number or putting a 1.
Bronze Stars for Multi-Phase Campaigns
Beginning with the Prometheus Incident (2392) campaign, characters can earn multiple bronze stars when participating in a multi-phase campaign. Each bronze star corresponds to participating in a mission in one phase of a campaign.
For example, the Prometheus Incident campaign is comprised of three phases:
|
For campaigns with more than four phases, a silver star corresponds to five phases completed.
Specify phases completed as you would number of citations
Template:Ribbons and all templates incorporating Template:Ribbons such as Template:Ribbons Display and Template:Ribbons Rack will automatically display bronze stars for such campaign ribbons.
Simply specify the number of phases completed as you would specify the number of citations for any other ribbon, and the correct number of campaign stars will be displayed, starting with one bronze on the first citation of the campaign ribbon (as opposed to the display of gold stars, which begins only on the second citation of a typical service ribbon).
