Their history is one of war. War between families, clans, tribes, communities and finally back to families. With over 2,000 years of partially recorded history it can be seen that while such groupings as clan, tribe and community each saw temporary rise's to power they always fell to the more primative but binding grip of the family.

Now every community on the planet is made up of members of a single family. All their effort is geared towards increaseing the power of their family. It was only with the shocking revelation that they were not the only species in exsistence that convinced these families that they needed to work together in order to survive.

Nowdays while their are still outbreaks of violence between the families they will not allow it to escalate into open warfare. For one it would weaken them and two it is no longer a practical method of gaining power.  

They are an amphibious species with dual breathing systems that are interconnected in such a way as to provide excellent breathing capabilities. Their hearing and visual abilites are less than normal for most intelligent humanoid species when out of the water.

They very seldom ever leave their homeworld due to the trauma to their systems caused by space travel. Their preferred method of dealing with the trauma of space travel is a self-induced catatonic state, during which they can rest standing up. Their half-shut eyes fully open upon awakening, a process that takes several hours. They then proceed to eat large quantities of [[ma:Vermicula|vermicula]].  

The '''First Father''' is the name given to the first of their people. He swam among the stars until he saw the glorious blue waters of their homeworld. Then he left the stars and gave birth to his people. Huge statues can be found grown from light blue coral in his image in every city and community.

They are an antagonistic species with few periods of true peace to be found anywhere. Communities will work together but seldom help out even those communities just a few leagues away. Large communities have many dissidents and revolutionaries. In some cases multple factions will be competeing against the local government for control of a city.   

They export ultritium which is a high explosive. It can be easily formed for many uses. One such was to line the robes of terrorists that tried to blow up a Federation Membership Conferance.
