Jefferson Dreyer began his life on the Federation Colony world of Markellion VI. In fact, he was the first child born there. He would go down in the history books as the only male, and one of only five children born there. By the time he was six years old, the colony on Markellion VI was no more. Unexpected plasma storms ravaged the planet and caused all the colonists to be evacuated. Several people died before the transports arrived, his mother being one of them. His father took them back to Earth to live, and he grew up in northern California. He joined Starfleet and received a commendation while on his Cadet Cruise. He was assigned to the USS Ticonderoga and spent two years on the core ward frontiers of Federation space. Eight years ago he was transferred to Admiral Krieger's ship, the Vandenburg. The Vandenburg spent all of those years in the Bajor Sector, and fought admirably in the Dominion War. Dreyer was impressive enough during his assignment on the Vandenburg that upon decommissioning of the Vandenburg, Krieger requested Dreyer to remain under his command.

Jeff considers himself a bit of a ladies man, and is actually very charming. He also is fond of Parrises Squares, and would play racquetball with Admiral Krieger on the Vandenburg. He is very aware of his surroundings at all times, which was part of what makes him an excellent pilot. He has some problems with Romulans and Cardassians, due to his involvement in the Dominion War.
