Hoping to leave the stain of his academy years behind him, Nilsen's first posting was to the USS Oumuamua, as a '''helm, communications, and operations officer'''. He joined the Oumuamua in mid 2400, met his roommate who he affectionally refers to as his "brorooomy," made a huge impact in his first mission and was showing a positive change in his behaviour.
