Hoyt was born in a common household in Ferenginar, his parents were not of power or huge amounts of money, so his life was fairly normal in terms of upbringing, being raised by his mother and disciplined by his father, who expected him to become someone as recognized as his brother, who by the age of twenty had a successful business.
