Lina Dahlquist was born as a second child to Frederik and Maria Dahlquist in Goteborg, Sweden on Earth. This was where she grew up.

Unlike her older brother Anders, Lina was a very introverted and reserved child.  Her older brother always wanted to be in the center of the attention very much like their father. Lina herself had never had the closest relationship to her older brother, but she and her younger sister Malin are very close.<br>

Her older brother always seemed to be her father’s favourite child, but Anders died due to a tragic accident when he was eighteen years old. This was of course a blow for the whole family. From one day to the next, the childhood ended for Lina. Because of the loss of his oldest son, his father suffered from depression. Nine-year-old Lina also felt guilty for not having had the best relationship with her older brother.  Her deceased brother was put on a pedestal by her father and it seemed that Lina, being so completely different from her brother, could never be ‘adequate’ and was not able to do anything correctly in her father’s eyes.
