-Kayla was part of the away team that went the surface of Verellia to collect a sample of the virus and determine the cause of the outbreak. She collected the sample shortly after beaming down, and was later involved in rescuing Lieutenant Choi from the Aggregate forces that had kidnapped him. In retrospect, Kayla realized that some of her decisions while on the surface were made hastily and could have endangered the lives of the rest of her team. Fortunately, they all returned safely to the Eagle, but she made a mental note to think before acting next time.
