Valdar was born in Bradbury City to Timothy and Carla Sorna. At the age of two he moved to Ares City: the capital of the Confederated Martian Colonies. His father was a cybernetics expert who worked on a govermental contract for the Council of the Confederated Martian Colonies. His mother was a pianist in a local music group from whom he and his older sister Ariana learned to play. Due to the nature of his father's job Valdar was often able to visit Earth. As a young boy he stared in awe at the magnificent Starships in orbit and always imagined going on adventures in deep space, discovering new planets and species, studing quasars and the universe. He always admired the smart uniforms of the men, women, (and those of neither) who entered in and out of the beautiful Starfleet building in San Francisco. It was then that he decided that he wanted to join Starfleet and go out into the galaxy on one of the beautiful starships that he admired so much.
