-Taila Kaji attended the Starfleet Academy afilliated campus on Aldebaran.  Already having so much experience in the medical field, she was able to test out of many classes and finished the academy in two and a half years, focusing on Starfleet regulations and alien physiology.   Nearing graduation, Kaji requested assignment to the Duronis II Embassy.  She was sent to Starbase 118 for finals and graduation, and her first posting was as a Medical officer on the USS Thunder-A, attached to the Duranis II Embassy.
