! style="background:#ffffff;" align="left" |Vincent's mother was a woman by the name Olivia Pierce, who was born on stardate 234805.13 in New Berlin, on the Lunar Colonies, to Francis Pierce and Margarita Craig Pierce. Her father was an administrator for one of the large dockyards on Luna station and her mother was the mayor of New Berlin.
 
Ever since she was young, Olivia had had a keen interest in music, mostly fueled by her father, who played music at every opportunity. This love of music led to her learning the Cello and, eventually, enrolling in an esteemed music program at a university on Vegra IV.
 
Just a year into the program, when she was 17 years old, Olivia became pregnant. Her pregnancy meant that she could no longer continue her studies, so she dropped out of school. Her parents, who left on the first flight to Vegra IV upon hearing the news, were killed in a shuttle accident and, as if that wasn't enough, the man who impregnated her, left her.
 
Olivia noticed an advertisement for a newly formed colony on the moon Rygel VII and, having no family, no education, and no partner with whom to raise her child, Olivia embarked for a new life on the frontier worlds.
 
Pierce had a very special relationship with his mother, since there weren't many people on the planet, the two of them spent much time together. Pierce was devastated upon her death and one of his goals in life is to exact vengeance on the people responsible.

Patrick McLeod was born in a small town called Ennis in western Ireland on Planet Earth. He was born to a creative family; his parents were both actors and his older brother became a classical violinist. Pat's favourite memories from childhood were when he would play Cello with his brother.
 
After graduating from Sligo Grammar School, a relatively unknown High School in Ireland, Pat attended Mars University, gaining an Honours Degree in both Astrophysics and Applied Mathematics. He initially intended to spend his life working in a lab but after seeing his childhood friend graduate from Starfleet Academy and move on to explore strange new worlds, Pat realized that a sedentary existence in a lab was not for him.

Patrick is the stereotypical nerd; ever since he was a child, he was always more interested in reading about science and history than he was about play and games. While he is smart intellectually, his self-imposed isolation has left his social-skills quite lacking; he tries to be outgoing and friendly but he always seems to say the wrong things and scare people off. Because of this, Pat forms strong bonds with the few friends that he manages to make.

Pat was born into an artistic family and his parents encouraged both him and his siblings to take up many hobbies, one of which was music. While he wasn't forced to continue all of the hobbies his parents encouraged, he dropped most, the one that he thoroughly enjoyed was playing the Oboe. Music is something that brings him a kind of joy that can't be found anywhere else.

A few months after graduating from Mars University, Pat applied to Starfleet Academy. His academics were excellent, and having already earned a degree in physics and mathematics gave him an edge that many applicants didn't have. That being said, he was never an athlete and the physical portion of the application process meant that Pat was accepted only by the skin of his teeth.
 
In the Academy, Pat decided to broaden his horizons and majored in Xenology. Early on, he discovered a passion for flying which came as a surprise to him. This, combined with his prior knowledge of Astrophysics, led to Pat taking a minor in helm and navigation.
 
Patrick enjoyed his time at the Academy and had no regrets attending. He still spent a lot of time cooped up alone studying and reading like he had before the Academy but he was more willing to try new things and for the first time ever, he involved himself in sports, discovering a hidden talent for hoverball. After his four years were over, Patrick graduated with distinction and due to his academic history, was commissioned with the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade.
