Tyler's personality is considered very divisive by those who know him. Rarely shying away from speaking his mind, he's often the one who isn't afraid to tell people what they may not want to hear. This tends to elicit very binary reactions from those he interacts with; the either appreciate his brevity or think him rude for his lack of sensitivity. Despite this, he doesn't have too much trouble making friends and when he is off-duty he tries to cut-loose a little from the rigid structure of his Starfleet life. Romantically, Tyler has been involved in a few relationships, though because of the strain his career puts on them, they have all eventually fizzled out. Because of this he tries to avoid serious relationships and had developed something of a reputation on the USS Constitution for the late night traffic his quarters sometimes received before his transfer.
