This year was a strange one, first for the missions they were into, including meeting some Alr'n rogues that boarded the ship and stole some items, they discovered planet Sallin, a planet devoted to trade and commerce, without the greed of the Ferengi. By the middle of the year, they  participated in the Klingon invasion task force that included fighting a K'Tanco class vessel from the Klingon empire and dealing with Iconian gateway that brought him and a few more officers to the Breen homeworld where they were hunted and finally rescued thanks to the hard work of the Avandar crew. All those issues brought tension to his relationship with his wife that demanded of him to either ask for a transfer to Earth or another planet near the core of the Federation or that he resigns his commission as she's tired of not knowing if he'll come back from any mission. He evaluated the situation and was considering leaving starfleet to be with Vojana in a quite place. When they were moving towards Sallin to have some rest, a strange space creature (Dream-Star-Echo) attached itself to the warp core and when the crew tried to cut the energy supply, it defended by bringing part of the crew in a kind of dream realm, brought by the innocent mind of captain Vetri's daughter, T'Sara. After some time, the creature sensed that those in that realm and T'Sara herself were in danger and left the ship to a destination unknown. The crew recovered without much problem, except for T'Lea that hit her head when fell in the dream state and had suffered some memory loss. After that, the Avandar crew received orders to transfer to different ships as the Avandar was recalled to serve as test bed for new technology. Marcus, along with Anora Manar were transfered to the USS DISCOVERY-C.
