When in college, studying biology, he met a El-Aurian woman who was studying psychology, he changed majors partway through to get to know her, started dating her and ended up marrying her. They both finished their studies, and he continued his studies in biology to finish his chosen major as well. He finished his studies in biology before they decided to start a family. His wife got pregnant with their first child, a daughter named Kerrin. She started to grow restless but didn't take action on it until Kerrin was 6 years old, abandoning him and her daughter. About two years later, in passing, the doctor that delivered Kerrin asked Maxwell how his son was. He was unaware he was to have a son. Apparently his wife, when finding out she was pregnant again, this time with a son, decided to leave him and enjoy her life with her new child.
